- It is specified in the brochure prepared by the Ministry of Health General Directorate of Mother And Child Care and Family Planning Center that dropping down of the value of hemoglobin in blood below 11 grams is called anemia with respect to expecting mothers. According to the brochure, sicknesses such as anemia, osteoporosis may develop in mother during pregnancy due to malnutrition. In this case, the mental development of the baby as well as the baby’s physical development is adversely affected.
- In order to avoid anemia, it is required to visit a healthcare organization at least 3 times for measurement of hemoglobin level and take iron and vitamin supplements upon doctor’s advice during pregnancy. It’s best to have your hemoglobin levels checked before your planned pregnancy.
